 MEET WITH MENAGE A TROIS HAIR DESIGN.
 

 
 

When we first met Katie in our salon in Cremorne, her bubbly personality led us quickly to talk about her passion!
As involved in the fashion as we are, we immediately realised that our collaboration would be profitable for both of us…
That’s how we decided to sponsor Katie wanting to help her reach her dream; Katie is a great athlete and a fantastic trainer.
A stimulating challenge for Ménage à Trois to give Katie a winning look in body sculpture competition. The hair is not the main feature evidently in this discipline but somehow plays a very important part as it’s completing the overall harmony of the silhouette.
With Katie and the Ménage à Trois artistic team, we started to watch pictures of various contestants to have a feel of what was happening fashion wise in the world of the “Body Sculpture”.

It appeared that the hair had to blend in, in a very soft manner, so it would not look like a wig or a style from another century…
Luckily Katie has a great hair naturally and we went for a colour that flattered her complexion and would suit the super tanned look of the competition’s day…
Our specialised technical team will add some very soft highlights just before the finals, using the “BALAYAGE” popular technic that Ménage à Trois use to render a natural sun-kissed glowing effect (see website for technic used).
The beautiful chocolate colour from our Lakmé range Gloss we have chosen for Katie will enhanced greatly the final result.
Then the haircut was decided so it would stay long but allow versatility and movements…
Finally, we had to think about the style which will be the most important since that’s what people see when Katie is on stage…
 

Our challenge was to consider that between the time we shall have done the hair and the time she will be posing on stage, quite some delay may happen and then the heat of the lights could make a perfect hair style fall into a used mop in seconds…
We decided to use for the top part the latest “O” hot Velcro rollers*; they will assure an extreme lift at the roots and a soft smooth finish.
For the lower part, underneath, we’ll use the newest hot iron* with temperature control set on 150c and a heat protective spray so we can go slow and give a strong holding curl that will last.
A special technic is used for this effect; our artistic team @ Ménage à Trois does free in-salon training for our clients.
